Valve placement and assembly for struts
the U-STICK bladder system allows you to assemble a bladder to fit any kite. the system is quick and simple regardless of the style or size kite you are servicing. follow the illustrations below to see how to determine where you should place the valve when assembling a leading edge bladder.

layout the original strut on top of the AIRTIME strut

make sure that the AIRTIME bladder is larger than the original bladder in both length and diameter. you can easily confirm that the AIRTIME bladder is larger by laying the original bladder on top of the AIRTIME bladder. Slide the original bladder as far forward as possible. once assembled you want any excess length to be at the tail of the strut not at the head of the strut.
mark the valve location on the strut
clean the strut with the alcohol wipe provided   peel the release paper off the back of the U-STICK valve

lay the original bladder directly on top of the AIRTIME replacement bladder. mark the exact location of the valve with a felt tipped marker. the marking should indicate plug arm position if it's important.   wipe down the area around the marking with the alcohol wipe provided, ALLOW TO AIR-DRY. NOTE: the peel and stick valve will not adhere to the bladder if it hasn't been properly cleaned with the alcohol wipe provided.   peel the release paper off of the base of the valve.
stick the valve to the AIRTIME strut   activate the valve   how to activate an option valve on a strut

stick the valve(s) to the bladder paying attention to the marking(s) and the valve arm position.   insert the pump nozzle into the valve and slowly pump air into the valve. the plastic below the valve will slowly stretch and then burst. the larger the bubble before it bursts the better. do not use an air compressor.   when activating the OPTION valve you will want to insert one of the connectors and use a piece of the latex tubing to connect your pump nozzle to the connector on the OPTION valve. you may want to moisten the connector so that it will be easier to insert into the OPTION valve.
Integrated reinforcement
AIRTIME strut bladders have a second layer of reinforcing poly at the head that needs to be accommodated before installation. since the position of the valve is different in each application you will need to accommodate the reinforcement to match the valve placement. please following the instructions below to properly arrange the reinforcement before you install the bladder.

fold over the head   mark the location of the valve   insert your hand between the two pieces of reinforcement

fold the head of the strut over so that you are looking at the back of the valve through the two layers of reinforcement.   mark the center of the valve on the opposite side of the reinforcing piece with a felt tipped marker.   insert your hand between the two reinforcing pieces. raise the mark up into a point and hold between your fingers.
cut the raised portion to open a hole for the valve   hole cut for valve   invert the reinforcing piece to accomodate the reinforcement

holding the point between your fingers, cut off the last 5mm of the tip. WARNING: you are to only cut one layer of the reinforcement, DO NOT CUT THE BLADDER.   after cutting the tip of the single layer of reinforcement you should be left with a 10-15mm diameter hole.   invert the reinforcing piece so that the head of the bladder has a reinforcing piece on both sides. Accommodate the valve in the hole you have just cut.
