We want to make the kite repair process as easy and economical as possible.  We know that for many busy people it's an inconvenience having to pack up and ship a kite in for repair.  So we've added a new feature to our online ticket list that lets you request an inbound shipping label.  Now you can arrange shipment from the comfort of your computer and we'll send a label to your email and add the inbound shipping to your kite repair tab.  Not only is it convenient but you'll also notice that we give you some pretty darn good shipping rates via UPS.

Here's how it works

You'll notice a new button in your repair ticket.  The button is labelled "Request inbound shipping label".

After clicking on the "Request inbound shipping label" you'll be given a new window.  You'll see that the address you entered as your return address is automatically populated as the "Pickup From" address.  If this shipping address is more or less where you're shipping the kite from you can skip over this section.  If, however, you're shipping in from an address other than where the kite is being shipped to after it's been repaired you have the ability to enter a different address.

The most important piece of info in this section is your email address as that is where the UPS label will be sent.

You'll next need to fill out the dimensions of the box you're shipping your kite in.  Try to get as accurate of measurements as possible as UPS does adjust rates on oversized boxes.  If you can't get the dimensions perfect don't sweat it too much.  We'll double check the measurements when the kite arrives and adjust the pricing in your ticket accordingly.

We suggest you try to use a box that is around 18"x 12" x 12".  Not so big that you get dinged on shipping and not so small that we can't get your kite back in after it's been repaired (of course kites with battens will require boxes that are large enough to fit the battens without damaging them).

If you don't have access to a scale you can usually estimate a boxed kite (without bar and lines and extra gear) at around 12lbs.

Choose the Service Type (Ground, 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air) and your insurance and see the cost of each option.

Once you click on the "Request Shipping Label" you're info is sent in and we'll process a UPS label for you.  You'll usually receive an email the same day with a pdf shipping label that you can print off and adhere to your box.  That same email will show you the closest UPS drop and with maps and driving directions.

We hope this new feature will make your kite repair experience just that much easier.  It's our desire at AIRTIME kite to set the standards for customer service.  We're often imitated but never duplicated.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How soon will you get back to me with a shipping label?

We process these requests for shipping labels at the end of each business day. If you request this service on a weekend or during a holiday you won't receive a response until the next business day. If you request a label during a normal buiness day you'll usually receive your label by that evening.

2. What if I'm sending the kite in from one address and want it shipped back to another address?

Not a problem. When you request the shipping label you have the ability to enter any address you want as the 'ship from' address. This won't affect the address that you've entered as your return shipping address.

3. When do I pay for the shipping?

When you request the label we add the shipping cost to your repair bill. After the kite is repaired we give you a final repair cost with shipping. Once payment is received we ship your kite back.

4. Is the pricing you give me better than I'd get elsewhere?

The pricing we give you is the cost we're charged by UPS with a small handling fee to cover the costs of processing your request. You'll see that the pricing is almost always quite a bit lower than what you'd pay if you walked into a shipping store or used the US Postal Service.

5. Will I get charged if I don't send the kite in?

Although each label we send out does incur a cost we only bill you should you decide to send your kite in for repair. If you aren't sure you're ready to ship your kite in we suggest you wait until you're ready before requesting the UPS label from us.
