Repair portfolio
Our sewn product manufacturing facility was established in 1984. In 2000 we converted part of our facility to provide warranty repair for the major North American kite distributors. Since we began servicing kites we have fixed thousands of kites, supported countless pro riders, and tweaked lots of prototypes. No other facility has more experience fixing your kite than AIRTIME.

Below are a few pictures to illustrate the quality of repair that sets us apart.

Small canopy tear

Above is a typical canopy tear in the middle of a large panel.   This type of repair is fixed with a partial panel replacement covering the damaged area and tying into a nearby seam.   We will always orient the fabric to match the original and we'll round corners so that we can use a continuous seam.

    Graphics matching

Many times graphics can be matched with partial panel replacements.   Graphics matching and original fabrics can make a repair almost "invisible".

We've yet to receive a kite that can't be repaired. Although ugly, most large repairs are easily fixed with no affect to the performance of the kite.   A partial panel replacement runs down the side of the existing panel tying into the strut seam on the side and the Dacron reinforcement on the leading edge.   Most graphics can be replaced so that your kite keeps its factory look.

Strut sleeve tear

Strut sleeves are opened and detached from the canopy if necessary. Original Dacron fabric is used to reinforce the struts from the inside.   Usually the damaged area will be covered with matching cloth to mask the repair from the outside of the strut as well.   All high stitch areas are reinforced from the backside for strength.

Leading edge sleeve tear

Leading edges are opened, repaired from the inside, and then closed back up.   The zipper for the bladder access was replaced and the entire area reinforced.   When finished the stitches were blacked out to make the repaired area as "invisible" as possible.
