1.Why did we develop ORANGE?
We've manufactured and distributed bladders since 2000. Almost 90% of all damage to bladders is due to improper installation or poor design of the closure at the end of the sewn sleeve. We wanted to develop a bladder that would resist both improper installation and bursting when the ends aren't properly supported. The ORANGE bladders are resistant to this type of damage.
2.What's the difference between ORANGE and yellow?
ORANGE bladders are made of a completely redesigned and different poly that is 35%-45% lighter than yellow. ORANGE bladders have the same 500% stretch that yellow bladders have, however, they are very reluctant to stretch. This reluctance to stretch means that the bladder will resist bursting due to twists or unsupported ends.
3.Why do I need ORANGE specific U-STICK valves for the ORANGE bladders?
The ORANGE poly is completely new and our adhesive used with yellow bladders wouldn't work on the ORANGE. So we developed an adhesive that was specific to the ORANGE. If you try to use any U-STICK valves other than the ORANGE specific valves on the ORANGE bladders you will be disappointed.
4.Why would I want ORANGE?
ORANGE is lighter. Some of our riders and testers claim improved performance. ORANGE also adds an element of rigidity to your kite, which some of our riders and testers claim contribures to improved performance.
5.Is there a reason I wouldn't want ORANGE?
ORANGE feels completely different. If you don't like change, even for the better, you might not like ORANGE.
6.I like yellow, will you continue to support it?
Our yellow is tried and true. When installed correctly the AIRTIME bladders will last forever. We've serviced thousands of kites each year since 2000 and have thousands of happy yellow users. We will continue to support yellow bladders with the necessary U-STICK valves for the forseen future. However, yellow bladders will not be available once current stock has been sold out.
7.Is installation of ORANGE the same as installation for yellow?
Installation is the same but assembly is different. The increased strength of the ORANGE means you can't attach a valve and then activate it with your pump. The plastic below the valve won't burst. You must first snip holes where you want to place valves before affixing the valves to the bladder.
8.What will the weight savings be with ORANGE?
ORANGE bladders will weigh in between 35%-45% lighter than OEM bladders with no compromise as to strength. We'd love to impress you with specific numbers regarding your specific kite but there are just too many kites to document them all. Maybe some of you will document the weight difference as you swap out bladders and post the information on forums for others to see.
9.Will it make my kite fly better?
We can document added strength and weight savings. Many of our testers are convinced that the weight savings and ORANGE's reluctance to stretch makes their kites faster and more responsive. Check the forums to see for yourself what user's of ORANGE are saying.
